This class combines mindfulness and yoga practices through breathwork, yoga-based activities, poses and sequences, guided relaxation, and games. We learn to slow down, pause and become present with whatever is arising in our moment-to-moment experiences. Yoga – based activities release physical and emotional energy and help children learn teamwork and develop strength, concentration, and self-confidence, as well as physical and mental flexibility.
Why Mindfulness?
We spend a lot of time developing our intelligence and strengthening our bodies through sports, but we give our mind very little attention. When we develop and strengthen our mind, we are increasing our ability to focus, recognize and manage our emotions, make better decisions, and emphasize in our relationships.
Mindfulness and Yoga classes are designed on the latest neuroscience research of the brain. The prefrontal cortex is activated through Mindfulness and Yoga practices which plays a crucial role in our well-being. With integrating and regulating our prefrontal cortex, we are able to activate the aspects of: bodily regulations, self-knowing awareness, attuned communication, empathy, emotional balance and regulation, fear modulation, intuition and morality.
